Farm Club Term 2 ( Tuesday 29th October start for 5 Weeks)
Our wonderful Farm Club will be opening its door in our new shelter in the woodlands on Tuesday 29th October for five weeks.
Our Farm Club leader Victoria Bryant , is fully Forest School trained and designs her sessions based on the seasons, farm work that is being carried out, woodland activities and is planned using a child-led pedagogy that focuses around nature, food, the farm and the seasons.
Children will be collected from Dartington Primary School and walk up to the farm looking at wild foraging opportunities along the way. (If your children do not attend Dartington Primary please still look at booking - we can meet you at the farm or at the school)
The Farm Clubbers could carry out a number of farm based activities harvest kale, purple sprouting broccoli, apples, they will learn about plant cycles, make scarecrows, collect eggs and grow seedlings as well as having fun in our woodlands.
The children will be able to explore the farm and woodlands and whilst taking part in lots of fun activities they will learn about food and its seasonality as well as how to look after the chickens and cows, learn about wildlife in the woodlands and on the farm and how to look after the woodlands. We will usually cook or prepare fresh fruit and vegetables for snacks every week using the produce from the farm.
Packing extra snacks, water bottles, appropriate clothing and sun cream, hats etc is essential
The term runs for 5 weeks at a cost of £60. We can collect children from Dartington Primary at the end of the school day.
